Location: We are situated in the heart of East Lothian, roughly halfway between Haddington and Dunbar (and about a 40-minute drive east of Edinburgh). The entrance to Smeaton Estate is on the outskirts of East Linton village, near the National Trust’s Preston Mill site. Once you turn into the estate, follow the drive all the way to the top – you’ll arrive at our walled garden and see the nursery. Keep an eye out for signs along the road pointing to “Smeaton Nursery Gardens.”

By Car: East Linton is easily reached via the A1. From the A199 or A1, follow signs into East Linton, then towards Preston Mill; the estate entrance is signposted. We have plenty of free parking on-site – including an overflow parking field for busy days – so you’ll always find a spot. Parking is free of charge for all visitors.

By Public Transport: The nearest train station is East Linton Station. A taxi from East Linton village is a quick ride.

By Bike/On Foot: The surrounding area is popular for cyclists and walkers. We’re accessible via local walking paths.
